Dancing Rock beach

Dancing Rock beach has long become a popular tourist destination in Quang Binh. The unique beauty of the rocky mountains eroded by seawater is an attraction that makes visitors come to explore. The origin of the name Dancing Rock beach is derived from the abrasion of the sea waves. The large stone blocks that seemed to be inanimate became alive with all kinds of different shapes. It is thanks to the ingenuity of mother nature that has created a very special tourist destination in Quang Binh.

As one of the two most beautiful beaches in Quang Binh, Ham Thuan Nam Da Nhay beach offers romantic scenes, especially in the morning at dawn and at sunset. What to Eat In Phong Nha – Ke Bang

Grass Carp – Son River (Ca Tram Song Son)

The Son River is famous for its clear blue water see the bottom, the water flows out from the limestone cave so it is very clean, pure, and unpolluted. Grass Carp raised on the Son River always have delicious, delicious meat and are very nutritious because the carp are often raised in cages on the river and are fed with algae and plankton taken from the river bed, without any growth food. Since then, grass carp meat has become a commercial product, bearing the specialty brand name of Phong Nha Ke Bang.

From grass carp meat, the people here have been flexible and creative to prepare many delicious and nutritious dishes and bring unique features to the cuisine in Phong Nha Ke Bang. Visitors here can enjoy dishes from this carp at any restaurant or eatery, from grass carp porridge, grass carp hot pot or grilled galangal, steamed grass carp with lemon pepper, braised grass carp with sour bamboo shoots, and grass carp with passion fruit sauce, grass carp braised true cardamom, etc., extremely unique, attractive and eye-catching.

Grilled chicken with “Cheo” salt (Ga Nuong Cham Muoi Cheo)

The type of chicken chosen is a chicken that is free-range on the hill, small but firm, with a fleshy taste when eaten. If the chicken is just cooked but still retains its toughness and sweetness, the griller also needs to have his own experience and technique. Chicken is grilled on a wood stove, not seasoned with any spices, it is important to watch the fire carefully because just a little too much will be burned, completely losing the delicious taste.

Besides, making “cheo” salt is also an extremely important step, a unique feature in the cuisine of Phong Nha – Ke Bang. “Cheo” is a salted dish as the locals call it, usually made from basil, bischofia javanica leaves, lemon leaves, salt, and green chili, or can be pounded with grilled fish and coriander leaves. When enjoying, diners will feel the deliciousness of the golden chicken skin, the soft and sweet chicken meat dipped with fragrant and spicy salt, which adds a unique flavor to this unique dish.

Quang Binh Porridge Soup (Chao Canh)

Porridge soup is a familiar breakfast dish of Quang Binh people. Specialty Quang Binh porridge soup is a rustic dish with bold characteristics of Central cuisine.

Quang Binh Porridge Soup is made from flour or rice flour, kneaded, and cut into bite-sized fibers. Soup cooked with fish cake, pork bones, shrimp, snakehead fish, or crab, served with onion, chopped vegetables, and coriander.

Quang Binh people eat porridge soup always accompanied by a cup of spicy chili fish sauce. Quang Binh porridge soup is an attractive dish that anyone who comes to this land also wishes to taste once the rustic flavor, is imbued with the soul of the countryside.

Brown Rice Vietnamese Crepe (Banh Xeo Gao Lut)

Brown Rice pancake impresses diners with the unique red color of brown rice and its irresistible delicious taste right at the first bite. The dipping sauce plays an important role in whether the pancakes taste good or not. A bowl of “standard” dipping sauce must have: chili, garlic, fish sauce, sugar, lemon, etc. to create a moderate acidity.

Quang Binh pancakes choose red rice flour, also known as brown rice, as the main ingredient. Then mix together with chopped shallots to create a distinct color and flavor. Another unique feature is that brown rice pancakes do not have shrimp, meat, or squid fillings at all, which means it has no filling inside. However, it still attracts most Quang Binh tourists because of this “disruptive feature”. In addition to eating Quang Binh pancakes with raw vegetables like regular Vietnamese pancakes, people also eat them with banana fish and a bowl of vegetable salad in the style of “very” Quang Binh.

Rice Dumpling Cake (Banh Bot Loc)

Rice dumpling cake is not a dish only found in Quang Binh, nor does it even originate from Quang Binh, but this cake has its hometown in Hue. Currently, this dish appears in many places in Vietnam. But Quang Binh Rice Dumpling Cake has its own flavor and appeal that cannot be imitated anywhere else. The reason for that specialty is because when coming to Quang Binh, this dish has been modified and added more flavors to become a famous specialty of Quang Binh.

Just by looking at the plate of rice dumpling cake, the saliva is already flowing. Haven’t tried it yet, but the plate of cake has met both the look and the flavor. The small, beautiful cakes with only about 2 fingers are very mouth-watering. The outer shell of the cake is covered with flour, when steamed, it becomes transparent, inside is a red shrimp with the same brown color of minced meat, wood ear, shiitake, etc., which stands out on a green banana leaf plate or a white plate. Bringing the cake close to your nose, you will feel the sweet aroma of spices, from cake flour, shrimp, wood ear mushrooms, and shiitake mushrooms.

Khoai Deo

‘Khoai deo’ is a specialty of Quang Binh for a long time, sweet and flexible ‘khoai deo’ is very suitable to sip with a cup of hot tea. In particular, ‘khoai deo’ is very easy to preserve, for many days without fear of mold, as a carefree gift.

From the rustic sweet potato, Quang Binh has created its own brand of a “unique” specialty that captivates tourists, and friends near and far, which is ‘khoai deo’.
